Local Rules
Out of Bounds
A ball is out of bounds if it come to rest:
- In or beyond all boundary fences, hedges or markers, including the white
posts to the left of the 3rd hole
- On the bowling green or in the surrounding ditch
- Beyond the white posts behind the 18th
green and in the area to the left of the marker on the course toilet,
extending back in a line parallel to the side of the course toilet
towards the 1st tee
- When playing the 10th hole, in an area to the right of the
white marker posts beyond the ditch and from the last marker post to the
marker post painted on the large tree in the boundary hedge
Hazards
- Water hazards are defined by yellow posts. Rule 26-1
- Lateral water hazards are defined by red posts. Rule 26-1
Immovable Obstructions
The following are immovable obstructions (relief as per Rule 24-2b):
Water hydrants, sprinkler heads, mains covers, sheds, tee and yardage
markers, telegraph poles and wires, paths of all types including support boards, bridges,
hazard markers, the practice net
on the left of the 18th hole.
Relief Without Penalty
- A ball striking any telegraph pole, power post or wires MUST be replayed
- Staked trees or those bearing a power post protective sleeve and a white
mark, which interfere with the area of a player’s intended swing, the player
MUST take relief under Rule 24-2b
- A ball coming to rest on an artificial path or against its support boards must
be lifted and dropped at the nearest point of relief which is no nearer to the
hole and not on the slope of a teeing area
- A ball coming to rest within two club lengths of a sprinkler head,
which is within two club lengths of the putting green and on the line of
play, may be marked, lifted and dropped at the nearest point which is no
nearer to the hole
- Stones in bunkers which interfere with play may be remove after
notifying your fellow competitors
Ground under Repair (GUR)
The following are declaredas ground under repair:
- Ground marked with a white line
- Newly laid turf
- Any open stone-filled or sand-filled drains
- Plantations defined by a blue line
- Tempoary greens and all course gardens and shrubberies
Further, the areas between the 12th and 14th fairways and the 15th and
16th fairways, marked with black and white posts and a white line boundary have
been created for the parking of buggies and trolleys, these areas are to be
treated as ground under repair.
A ball in GUR must be marked, lifted and dropped (as per Rule 25-1).
Penalty for breach of Local Rules: match play - loss of hole, stroke play
- 2 strokes penalty
Tractor Marks
Marks made by green keepers vehicles do not constitute abnormal ground
conditions (Rule 25-1). However, should the tyre marks made by a tractor or
similar vehicle be deep rutted (Decision 25/16) then relief may be obtained
under Rule 25-1bi.
Yardage Posts
Green posts with orange tops are situated 150 yards from the centre of the greens.
Public Footpaths
Members of the general public have Right of Way whilst proceeding
along the public footpaths as illustrated on the score card.
Golfers are forcibly reminded that they should not strike a golf ball
whilst any member of the general public is remotely within range.
